Ergometer’s are used for more than just rehablitation. Many athletes love them to vary workouts or as a low intensity warm up before resistance training. Our CMXErg+ ergometer is commerical grade and offers 8 levels of smooth, quiet magnetic bi-directional resistance. The cranks are adjustable and can be set up with foam grips or pedal for both upper and lower body workouts.

A recent Ace study illustrates the benefits of pedaling backwards. The cycling study showed that pedaling backward on the Cascade CMXRT recumbent bike elicited higher heart-rate and energy-cost values than pedaling at identical workloads in the forward direction. Pedaling backwards improves quadricep strength enabling riders to work at a higher workload at a lower RPE and heart rate.
